[Chinese and foreign toy network April 6th] Eastern time April 3rd, the US trade representative published a tax proposal on China's 301 survey and publicly solicited opinions. Fortunately, toys were not included in the list. The news was confirmed by the American Toy Association.

The list covers about $50 billion in China's exports, with a recommended tax rate of 25%, covering some 1300 tax products, including steel products, aluminum products, medical drugs, compounds, rubber products and so on. About 2025 of China's manufacturing accounts for half of the list.

Earlier, President Trump formally signed a memorandum of trade with China at the White House to consider taxing many kinds of Chinese products. According to the Chinese and foreign toy network, the American Toy Association had previously invited the White House together with other industry associations to encourage the coalition and media forces to oppose the tariff policy. At present, it seems that this action has achieved certain results. The American Toy Association announcements the notice and reminds member enterprises to pay attention to whether the imported parts and raw materials are in the tax list.

At present, the office of the United States Trade Representative (USTR) is seeking public opinion and will hold public hearings on decisions on appropriate actions for these actions, policies and practices.

Thereafter, the related time nodes include:

April 23, 2018: the deadline for submitting applications and the summary of the expected testimonies at public hearings and the documents submitted before the hearing.

May 11, 2018: deadline for submission of written comments.

May 15, 2018: the 301st committee will hold a public hearing at the main hearing room of the U.S. International Trade Commission.

May 22, 2018: the deadline is the rebuttal of the hearing after the submission.

According to China News Agency, Washington, D.C., April 5th, President Trump issued a statement 5 days, saying that US trade representatives have been instructed to consider the appropriateness of the tax on Chinese goods for $100 billion under "clause 301", and he also said the United States is still ready to negotiate.

US trade representative lett Hill said that any recommended list of additional tariffs would be the same as the public comment process for the list of goods to be taxed in April 3rd. Tariffs will not come into effect until the relevant procedures are completed.
